Rules of the Game!
- All sheets must be in before first game starts. No exceptions!
- Entry fee must be tendered upon entry. If you can't afford it, don't
play. Every year it costs us money to do this tourney. Why should we shoulder
expense, we already put in countless hours making this pretty website for you.
Oh yeah, I give myself one entry on you for my twenty hours of work. Here is
the fee system this year: ($5.50 per sheet online if you use Paypal (there is
an expense that they charge but it sure is convenient!) / $6.00 fax or
handwritten (this is so I don't have to translate chicken scratch and make
guesses that you really didn't want Duke playing, that's right, Duke in the
finals!)/ $5.00 if you enter online and hand the money to an individual
immediately). If this doesn't sound like the way you want to do it, please
don't enter my pool. If you like to play this, and I know many of you do
judging from the recidivists who keep appearing in the standings year after
year, then help to make this year's pool easy to manage and I will continue to
run it - if it gets deep in labor then this will be the swan song!
- Please use unique names for each entry if you intend to enter multiple times. You know who you are we don't.
- Scoring is done by assigning points per game. Win and you get points, lose and you don't.
- First round=2 pts.
- Second round=4 pts.
- Third round=6 pts.
- Fourth round=10 pts.
- Fifth round=16 pts.
- Final game=25 pts.
- Tie breakers:
- Total combined points scored in championship game.
- Winning pick percentage.
- Most teams in Final 16.
- Coin toss!
- Prize structure:
- First place: 50% of total and your very own webpage extoling your gurudom.
A prize to be named later.
- Second place: 25% of total.
- Third place: 10% of total.
- Fourth place: 5% of total.
- Fifth place: 2.5% of total.
- Last place: $10.00 - Your entry fee back and one for next year!
